Subs are £25 per term for young members.  Children joining after half term may be charged £12.50 for that term.  Subs may be paid in instalments subject to agreement of the Section Leader.

Adults and Young Leaders are not charged Subs.  Leader’s children are charged the normal rate of Subs.
Non-members (i.e. parents, siblings, friends, etc) should not attend meetings except by invitation of the Section Leader.
Julie should be informed of all young people who regularly come along to help.  (See page 7)
The Section Leader should keep an attendance record of everyone present at each meeting, including all adults and all children who are there.
Section Leader must have an Admission form and/or an Activities Reply Slip for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Young Leaders present at the meeting or activity.
Julie and Julian Dean need to be informed beforehand.

All camps must take place within the rules of the Nights Away scheme and the Home Contact procedure must be followed.

People that the Group has not had CRB clearance confirmed for must not help at Camps.
It is up to the Section Leader what information is sent out to young members and parents regarding Section programmes. However Julie must be kept informed of what each Section is planning to do.

Details of where and when Section Meetings will take place must not be made accessible to the general public.
The Group is allowed to hire minibuses belonging to local schools etc.  Julie holds three Minibus Permits belonging to the Group; legal provisions are listed on the Permits.

The Permit and corresponding Disc need to be taken on the journey they are being used for.

The driver needs to hold a Suffolk County Council License.
Some camps and activities may take place during school holidays.  However, the Group generally only meets regularly during the school terms, which vary, so we are going to use:

District and County events can be found on the District website, which is kept up to date, but you can’t view that part unless you log in as a member.  The website address is http://www.debenscouting.org.uk/
You must give money received on behalf of the Group to Beverley to deal with – you mustn’t put it through your personal bank account.

Parents should bring money for Subs or specific activities in envelopes, with name, amount and what for written on the envelope.

Problems with late payers should be referred to Julie.
Beavers have a budget of 75p per child per meeting.  Cubs and Scouts have a budget of 50p per child per meeting.  This can be averaged out over the whole term.

If you pay for this out of your personal money Beverley needs to have the receipt(s) or similar paperwork in order to reimburse you.
You can get badges directly from the District Badge Secretary, Roger on 01728 685519.  There is no upper limit to how much you can spend on badges (i.e. the ones earned).
You need to agree these first with Julie (see page 5).  Beverley needs to have the receipt(s) or similar paperwork in order to reimburse you.
We are a uniformed movement and Leaders should set a good example on this.

You can order uniform from www.scoutshops.com

You may be able to get uniform from Geoff Turner "Outdoor People", 11 Charles Industrial Estate, Stowmarket - phone 01449 675511 to check.

T-shirts with the Group logo on are available from Sally; these are not uniform but they are handy for grubby activities.

Group Scarves are available from Corrin.
Training and self development is an integral part of Scouting for all members.

All Leaders need to do 5 hours training per year.  This can be Ascent, JITA or going on courses that you believe will help your Scouting.  (Please note that attending District or County meetings etc does NOT automatically count towards training hours.)
